Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Tuesday directed the Health Department to launch a large-scale awareness campaign to ensure more people benefit from the state’s flagship healthcare initiatives, Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna (MMSY) and Aam Aadmi Clinics (AACs).

Reviewing the progress of both schemes, Mann said Punjab’s 1,090 Aam Aadmi Clinics, including 603 in rural areas and 487 in urban areas, have provided healthcare services through over 6.11 crore OPDs. He said around 1.91 crore patients have visited the clinics for the first time, while nearly 93,000 patients seek treatment daily.

Chief Minister highlighted that 107 medicines are being provided free of cost at the clinics and noted that healthcare data from AACs is helping the government understand disease patterns across districts.

On the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, Mann said over 50 lakh households covering 1.25 crore beneficiaries have been enrolled under the scheme. More than 5.90 lakh people have received free treatment through 892 empanelled hospitals, including 223 government and 669 private hospitals.

Emphasising the need for wider public outreach, Mann said greater awareness would help ensure that every eligible beneficiary avails the benefits of these welfare-oriented healthcare programs. He also announced plans to personally interact with stakeholders to strengthen implementation and address concerns.
