A cryptic social media post by Chandigarh MP Manish Tewari has triggered political speculation after he was left out of the Punjab Congress' latest organisational reshuffle announced ahead of the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.

On Thursday, Tewari took to X to react to the Congress' newly announced list of working presidents and election committees. Referring to an article on the appointments, he wrote, "Wish I had an antidote for the insecurities of people and institutions," a remark widely interpreted as expressing disappointment over his exclusion from the party's new organisational structure.

The comment came a day after the All India Congress Committee (AICC) announced the appointment of working presidents, chairpersons, and co-chairpersons for various election-related committees in Punjab as part of its preparations for the 2027 Assembly polls.

Despite being one of the Congress' most prominent leaders from Punjab and currently serving as the Member of Parliament from Chandigarh, Tewari was not assigned any organisational responsibility in the reshuffle.

Tewari is a three-time Member of Parliament, having previously represented the Anandpur Sahib Lok Sabha constituency in 2019 and also served as MP from Ludhiana. He is currently representing Chandigarh in the Lok Sabha.

According to an official press release issued by AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge approved the new organisational appointments with immediate effect as part of the party's strategy to strengthen its election machinery in Punjab.
