The ongoing internal tussle in the Punjab Congress has once again come to the fore. After the Channi camp, senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa has reportedly written to Rahul Gandhi seeking an appointment, along with 15 party MLAs.
According to party sources, the legislators want to present their views on the current situation in the Punjab Congress and discuss the disputes and factional infighting within the party.
MLAs are said to be seeking discussions with the Congress high command on various organisational issues and the ongoing friction among party leaders. They believe that a direct dialogue with the top leadership is necessary to strengthen the party in Punjab and address the prevailing challenges.
Earlier, during the Punjab visit of state Congress in-charge Bhupesh Baghel, several MLAs were unable to meet him as the Punjab Assembly session was underway and they were occupied with legislative proceedings.
As a result, many legislators could not convey their concerns to the party in-charge at that time. The latest letter sent by 15 MLAs to Rahul Gandhi has once again intensified discussions over internal politics in the Punjab Congress.
However, there has been no official confirmation so far from Rahul Gandhi’s office regarding the scheduling of a meeting with the legislators.
