The final electoral rolls for all 117 Assembly constituencies in Punjab were published on Monday following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls, 2026, Chief Electoral Officer Anindita Mitra, IAS, said.
According to the final rolls, Punjab has 2,01,00,727 registered electors, comprising 1,03,76,026 male voters, 97,24,195 female voters and 506 third-gender electors. The electorate has increased by 3.64% from the 1,93,94,435 electors recorded in the draft rolls published on August 13, 2026.
The revision exercise began on June 25 in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India. During the house-to-house enumeration phase, Booth Level Officers (BLOs) distributed and collected enumeration forms from registered electors. Citizens were subsequently given an opportunity to verify their details and submit claims or objections.
During the verification process, 35,49,036 electors were issued notices, of whom 86,038 were marked ineligible following detailed verification and the issuance of reasoned orders.
Mitra said the election machinery made extensive efforts to ensure transparency and convenience for voters. Dedicated document verification teams and grievance redressal mechanisms were established across the state. The voter helpline number 1950 remained operational from 8 am to 8 pm to address queries.
To improve voter accessibility, the number of polling stations across Punjab has been increased from 24,453 to 25,332. The Election Commission also conducted voter awareness activities under its Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme, including special camps, social media campaigns and outreach initiatives in educational institutions.
The CEO thanked recognised political parties and the 89,395 Booth Level Agents appointed across Punjab for their cooperation during the revision exercise. Copies of the final rolls, along with soft copies, were handed over to representatives of recognised political parties.
The final electoral rolls are available at the offices of District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers and Booth Level Officers. Voters can also check the lists on www.ceopunjab.gov.in and www.voters.eci.gov.in.
Mitra urged eligible citizens whose names have not been included in the final rolls, as well as new voters seeking enrolment, to submit Form 6 online through the ECINET app or offline through their respective Booth Level Officers.
