Punjab government has honoured police officers with cash rewards for their outstanding performance in maintaining law and order and taking effective action against drugs and crime.
The special ceremony was held at the Maharaja Ranjit Singh Police Academy in Phillaur, where Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann addressed the police officers and appreciated their contribution to public safety.

During the event, Mann particularly praised the role of Station House Officers (SHOs) and Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), who remain directly connected with people at the grassroots level.
After the distribution of cash rewards, the Chief Minister was invited to address the gathering. He welcomed senior police officials, including IGs, DIGs, SPs, SSPs and SHOs who had arrived from across the state.

Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha, senior officers Praveen Sinha and Sakshi Sinha, officials from the Jalandhar range, the Jalandhar Rural SSP and Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Aggarwal were also present on the occasion.
Mann congratulated the entire team for successfully organising what he described as a unique program.
Focus On Ground-Level Police Officers
During his address, Mann said that while planning the programme, the government decided not to rely solely on figures and recovery reports available on paper. Instead, the focus was placed on interacting directly with officers who remain in contact with the public and understand the situation on the ground.
The Chief Minister said the program marked an important occasion as senior administrative and police officials, including the DGP and Chief Secretary, directly interacted with SHOs and DSPs.
Government Stands With Honest Officers
Mann sought to boost the morale of the police force, saying the government would stand firmly behind officers who work honestly, fearlessly and with dedication to protect the public.
The cash rewards were presented in recognition of the exemplary services of police personnel who have contributed to the state's efforts against drugs, crime and other law-and-order challenges.
