On the occasion of Teachers’ Day, the Punjab government will honour 75 teachers with the State Awards 2026 for their outstanding contribution to the education sector. The state-level ceremony will recognise teachers serving in government schools across different districts of Punjab.
The awardees will include principals, lecturers, master-cadre teachers, headmasters, headmistresses and primary-cadre teachers. Among the selected teachers, the highest number are reportedly from Rupnagar (Ropar) district.
Of the total awards, 55 teachers will receive the State Teacher Award, 10 will be honoured with the Young Teacher Award, and four will receive the Special Teacher Award. In addition, six teachers will be recognised for their outstanding services in the administrative field.
Teachers working in government schools across Punjab have been selected based on their contribution to the overall development of students, improvement in teaching practices and dedication towards education.
Punjab government said the state-level recognition aims to encourage teachers and acknowledge their contribution to strengthening the education system. Teachers from various school education cadres have been included in the award list.
