Punjab Government has launched a new direct Volvo bus service from Jalandhar to Katra, offering a more comfortable and convenient travel option for pilgrims visiting the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and other passengers.
The luxury coach will depart daily from Jalandhar Bus Stand at 9:15 AM and is scheduled to reach Katra at 5:00 PM. The one-way fare has been fixed at ₹945.
Jalandhar Bus Stand General Manager Maninder Pal Singh said the Volvo service was started after repeated requests from travellers seeking a direct luxury bus to Katra. He added that if the service receives a positive response, the government may introduce more buses on the route in the future.
The service has been introduced in response to long-standing demand from passengers, who had been facing difficulties due to the lack of a direct and comfortable bus connection between Jalandhar and Katra.
