Reaffirming its commitment to the welfare and empowerment of all sections of society, the Punjab Government, under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Singh Mann has launched a skill development programme aimed at providing vocational training to orphaned and Abandon children. Announcing this initiative, cabinet minister Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that the programme is designed to equip these children with employable skills, ensuring their financial independence by the time they turn 18 Years.
Dr. Baljit Kaur informed that under this initiative, 187 children residing in various child care institutions will receive training in beauty care, hairdressing, multi-technician skills, and mobile phone repair. This program will provide them with hands-on experience in these trades, making them self-reliant and enhancing their employability and entrepreneurial capabilities.
She further mentioned that to implement this programme effectively, the government has collaborated with reputed training institutes and industry experts. The training sessions will be structured to provide both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure, ensuring that the children receive certification upon completion.
