The Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully committed to the welfare of freedom fighters and their families, said Freedom Fighters, Defence Services Welfare and Horticulture Minister Mohinder Bhagat.
He stated that the state government is providing a monthly pension of ₹11,000 to freedom fighters of Punjab, as well as to their widows, unmarried and unemployed daughters, and unmarried unemployed sons.
The minister said that freedom fighters made invaluable contributions to India’s independence and their sacrifices will always be remembered. He added that the Punjab Government is continuously working to ensure their honour, dignity, and welfare.
Mohinder Bhagat further said that the government is working for the welfare of all sections of society and is extending every possible assistance to the families of freedom fighters.
He also noted that the service and sacrifice of freedom fighters continue to inspire the younger generation, and the state government remains committed to upholding their respect and legacy.
