Punjab government will organise a statewide Mega Parent-Teacher Meeting (PTM) on October 9, 2026, across nearly 19,200 government primary, middle, high and senior secondary schools in all 23 districts of the state. Around 25 lakh parents are expected to participate in the initiative.

Held under the theme “Har Din, Ik Kadam Agge” (One Step Forward Every Day), the Mega PTM aims to strengthen coordination between parents and teachers and focus on the overall development and learning progress of every child.

During the meetings, parents will get an opportunity to interact individually with their child’s teacher and understand their academic performance, attendance, strengths and areas where additional support may be required.

Teachers will share students’ report cards and, in consultation with parents, prepare individualised action plans based on each child’s learning needs. Parents will also be guided on simple ways to support their children’s education and learning at home.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said the initiative is aimed at bringing schools and families together to help every child move forward.

“Every parent wants to see their child move forward. This Mega PTM is an opportunity to build the future of every single child and make Punjab’s schools number one in the world. When schools and families take that next step together, our children gain the confidence to lead and excel globally,” Mann said.

The meetings will also focus on creating awareness about various student-support initiatives being implemented by the government. School Management Committee (SMC) members will also be recognised for their contribution and efforts towards improving schools and supporting children’s education.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said the government’s focus is on providing dedicated attention to every student and developing customised learning roadmaps.

“Our focus is on ensuring dedicated, individual attention for every child and crafting customised learning roadmaps to help them advance. ‘Har Din, Ik Kadam Agge’ is not merely a promise, but a decisive action on the ground to nurture each student’s potential and accelerate their learning journey,” Bains said.

The Mega PTM is being organised as part of the Punjab Sikhya Kranti initiative to further strengthen the relationship between schools and families. SMC members will assist schools in reaching out to parents and encouraging their participation.

The government said the initiative is intended to ensure that every parent leaves the meeting with a clearer understanding of their child’s progress, along with a practical plan to support the child’s next stage of learning.
