A joint operation by the Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has led to the arrest of a Punjab-based youth accused of sending sensitive videos of Border Security Force (BSF) installations to handlers in Pakistan. The accused, identified as Guruvinder Singh from Punjab, was apprehended from Tarn Taran district.
According to ATS officials, Guruvinder Singh is suspected to have links with the banned terror outfit The Resistance Front (TRF). Investigators claimed that digital evidence recovered from his mobile phone and social media accounts revealed chats, voice notes, and conversations with individuals associated with the terror group.
Officials said the accused allegedly shared information related to weapons and possible blast locations with Pakistan-based operatives. During the investigation, ATS teams reportedly found pro-Khalistan and pro-Pakistan content, including posts, videos, chats, and comments on his social media profiles.
The case surfaced during a probe by the social media monitoring wing of Rajasthan ATS. Acting on intelligence inputs, ATS teams carried out the operation on Friday and coordinated with Punjab Police for further action.
Based on the ATS complaint, a case has been registered against Guruvinder Singh at Sadar Patti Police Station in Tarn Taran district. Security agencies are now investigating his possible network and links with cross-border terror handlers.
ATS officials further revealed that the accused had allegedly stayed in a hotel near Jaipur Railway Station for nearly two months under the guise of employment. During this period, he allegedly remained in contact with Pakistan-based terrorists and attempted to procure grenades and AK-47 rifles.
Rajasthan ATS ADG Dinesh MN said that digital analysis and interrogation uncovered separatist and Pakistan-supporting material on the accused’s accounts. Investigators also recovered Facebook Messenger chats, discussions related to weapons and explosives, and voice notes allegedly linked to members of TRF.
