Punjab on Edge Again, After Jalandhar a loud explosion outside an army camp in the Khassa area of Amritsar late on the night of May 5 created panic among residents, forcing many to rush out of their homes.

The incident occurred around 11 PM when a sudden and powerful blast was heard in the vicinity. Soon after the alert, police and army teams reached the spot and cordoned off the entire area. Security has been significantly tightened as investigations continue.

Forensic teams and a dog squad were also deployed to examine the site. Preliminary findings suggest that tin sheets installed on the outer boundary wall of the army camp were damaged due to the explosion. However, officials have confirmed that no loss of life or injuries has been reported so far.

Authorities are treating the matter with utmost seriousness and are investigating every possible angle. Amritsar Rural SP Aditya Warrior stated that immediate action was taken after receiving information, and evidence has already been collected from the site.

Heavy security deployment in the area

Police officials have refrained from sharing detailed information, saying that the situation will become clearer only after the investigation is completed. At present, a heavy police presence remains in the area, and security agencies are closely monitoring the situation.
