In one of the biggest seizure of drugs, the Counter Intelligence wing of Punjab Police busted a cross-border smuggling racket by confiscating 105 kg of heroin, reportedly smuggled from Pakistan, along with 6 pistols, with arrest of two persons in Baba Bakala area here late on Saturday night.
Police said the accused Navjot Singh and Lovepreet Kumar are associates of foreign-based drug smuggler Navpreet Singh alias Nav Bhullar.The Counter Intelligence wing confiscated the heroin stashed in a rented accommodation in Baba Bakala.
Taking to X, Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav said, “Water-route was used to transport drugs from Pakistan, big rubber tubes of tyres have also been recovered, indicating that narcotic contrabands have been smuggled through water way.”
