Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu's troubles have intensified over an alleged remark concerning the Scheduled Caste (SC) community made during the Punjab municipal elections.

The Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has summoned him to appear before the panel on June 4. However, Bittu has already issued a public apology over the controversy.

Providing details of the case, Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission Chairman Jasvir Singh Garhi said the Commission became aware through social media reports that Bittu had allegedly used casteist language during his visit to Dhuri. Following the reports, the Commission sought a detailed report from the Sangrur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP).

Garhi stated that after reviewing the report submitted by the police, the Commission expressed disagreement with its findings and decided to summon the Union Minister for further clarification. The matter is now scheduled for hearing before the Commission on June 4.
