Punjab’s maximum temperature has once again crossed the 38°C mark, but residents may get some relief from the scorching heat as rain is likely in several parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for the next three days, forecasting heavy rainfall in districts bordering Himachal Pradesh.

The expected rainfall is likely to bring down temperatures and provide relief to people from the prevailing hot weather. The impact of rain is expected to be more pronounced in districts located close to the hilly regions.

On Friday, Punjab’s average maximum temperature increased by 1.1°C, although it remained close to the seasonal normal. Faridkot recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 38.2°C.

According to the weather forecast, rainfall activity over the coming days is likely to be more significant in districts near the Himachal Pradesh border. The change in weather conditions is expected to ease the heat, with residents hoping for a respite from the rising temperatures.
