Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced that women newly registered under the Maa-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana will receive their honorarium directly in their bank accounts on August 28, coinciding with Raksha Bandhan.

Mann said more than 75 lakh women have already been enrolled under the scheme, with ₹2,274.42 crore transferred to eligible beneficiaries so far. Under the initiative, women from the general category receive ₹1,000 per month, while Scheduled Caste women receive ₹1,500 per month.

Chief Minister said the scheme aims to strengthen women’s financial independence and dignity. He added that the Punjab Government has allocated ₹9,300 crore for the program and expects nearly 97 percent of women in the state to benefit from it. He also reiterated the government’s commitment to welfare measures, including free electricity, healthcare, education, and sports infrastructure.
