The last date for filing claims and objections regarding the Draft Electoral Roll published on August 13, 2026, under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 in Punjab is September 12, Chief Electoral Officer Punjab Anindita Mitra, IAS, said.

She said the Final Electoral Roll will be published on October 12, 2026. Mitra urged citizens to verify their details in the draft roll and submit claims or objections within the deadline.

Young people who have attained or will attain the age of 18 years on or before October 1, 2026, can apply for enrolment as new voters through Form 6. Eligible overseas Indian citizens can apply through Form 6A, while existing voters can use Form 8 for corrections, change of address or updating other details.

Applications can be submitted online through the ECI voter portal, via the ECINET mobile app, through Booth Level Officers (BLOs), or at the offices of EROs/AEROs.

Mitra said voting is not merely a civic duty but a fundamental constitutional right through which citizens help shape the governance and future of the country.
