In a proud moment for Punjab, Nisha, an alumna of the Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) for Girls in SAS Nagar (Mohali), has been commissioned as a Sub-Lieutenant in the Indian Navy after successfully passing out from the Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, Kerala.

Nisha was formally inducted into the Navy during an impressive Passing Out Parade reviewed by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command.

Commissioned into the Education Branch of the Indian Navy, Nisha is the daughter of Dinesh Chander, a Senior Assistant at Punjabi University, Patiala. Her achievement has brought pride to her family, institute, and the state of Punjab.

Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora congratulated Nisha on her remarkable accomplishment and extended his best wishes for a successful and distinguished career in the Indian Navy. He lauded the role of Mai Bhago AFPI in preparing young women for careers in the armed forces and inspiring future generations.

Nisha’s commissioning adds another milestone to the growing list of achievements by Mai Bhago AFPI alumni serving the nation in various branches of the armed forces.
