India Meteorological Department has issued rain alert for the entire state of Haryana, with showers from several districts on Saturday. Rainfall was recorded in Hisar, Mahendragarh, Fatehabad, Bhiwani, Gurugram, Rohtak and Dabwali in Sirsa district, while light drizzle occurred across most parts of the state.
Rohtak Worst Hit by Waterlogging
Heavy rainfall created severe waterlogging in Rohtak, where roads in Model Town and Krishna Colony were submerged under nearly three feet of water. A woman was seen dragging her scooter through the flooded street after it broke down in the accumulated water.
Strong winds and rain also caused damage near the residence of former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, where the awnings of shops collapsed. Waterlogging was also reported in the lane near the house of former minister Subhash Batra.
Faridabad Colonies Inundated
In Faridabad’s Green Field area, a boundary wall collapsed after rainwater accumulated in a vacant plot. The breach allowed water to flow into houses in the Dayalbagh locality, affecting residents and damaging property.
Drone visuals from the city showed several colonies with roads completely submerged, highlighting the scale of the urban flooding.
Gurugram Residents Struggle Through Flooded Roads
In Gurugram, heavy waterlogging was reported on Dhanwapur Road, where motorcycles stalled in the flooded stretch. Some youths were forced to carry their bikes on their shoulders to cross the waterlogged road.
Jhajjar Waterworks Wall Collapses
In Jhajjar, overnight heavy rainfall caused the main wall of the waterworks on Rewari Road to collapse. Rainwater entered the waterworks premises, raising concerns about possible disruption to local water supply infrastructure.
Hisar Roads Also Affected
Waterlogging was also reported from the PLA area of Hisar, where several roads remained inundated after continuous rainfall.
The state administration has put local authorities on alert as more rainfall is expected during the day. Officials have urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel through low-lying areas and to remain cautious near waterlogged roads and damaged structures.
