An HRTC bus (HP-73-8780) operating on the Bharmour–Hadsar–Kugti route was struck by falling rocks from a hillside, causing its front tyre to slip off the road. Fortunately, the driver acted swiftly and applied emergency brakes after noticing the falling debris, preventing a major accident.

According to reports, around 20 passengers were on board at the time of the incident, which occurred on Wednesday morning. After safely disembarking, passengers inspected the bus and expressed gratitude to the driver for saving their lives.

Eyewitnesses said the bus briefly went out of control and began moving towards a deep drain. However, a crash barrier stopped the vehicle, averting a serious mishap. Had the barrier not been in place, the bus could have plunged into a deep gorge.

The incident is believed to have been caused by continuous rainfall in the region over the past 12 hours, leading to multiple landslides and falling debris from the hills.
