A serious case of sacrilege has come to light in the Sohana area of Mohali, where damaged parts of Sri Gutka Sahib were found near Mata Gujri Devi Gurudwara, located close to Gurudwara Singh Shaheeda. The incident triggered tension in the area, and members of the Sikh community blocked Airport Road demanding justice.
According to reports, the matter came to light when a sevadar (volunteer) at the Gurudwara noticed the torn and damaged parts of Sri Gutka Sahib lying on the ground. The news quickly spread, leading to a large gathering of people. Angry over the incident, protesters raised slogans against the administration and blocked Airport Road, bringing traffic to a standstill.
DSP Mohali City-2, Harshmiran Singh Ball, reached the spot and tried to calm the protesters. He assured them that the police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness. He said that an FIR has been registered under the new law and CCTV footage from the area is being examined. He further assured that the culprits will be arrested soon.
