Police have arrested a history-sheeter accused of threatening actor Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan and his personal assistant, along with involvement in a chain snatching case. The accused, Mohammad Shahrukh from Shahganj in Prayagraj, carried a reward of ₹25,000 on his arrest.

According to Inspector Rajesh Maurya, the accused had recently snatched a woman’s chain near Irma School in the Indiranagar area three weeks ago.

Acting on inputs, a police team was conducting vehicle checks near a mazar on Bandha Road on Thursday when they spotted a motorcycle without a number plate. When signalled to stop, the rider attempted to flee but was soon apprehended.

Police recovered the stolen chain and ₹8,000 in cash from his possession.

Investigations revealed that Shahrukh has over 20 criminal cases registered against him in multiple police stations including Kareli, Khuldabad, Shahganj, and Dhoomanganj.

His record includes charges of extortion, attempted murder, and bomb attacks. He had earlier threatened Salim Khan and his PA in 2018 and was arrested by Bandra Police at the time.

In 2019, he was also allegedly involved in a life-threatening attack on a businessman, Hamdan, and has reportedly been detained multiple times during police encounters.
