Following the arrest of Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), the Punjab government has redistributed his departmental responsibilities among three ministers.
As per official orders issued by the state government, Tarunpreet Singh Sond has been assigned the Power Department. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains has been given charge of the Local Bodies Department, while Aman Arora has been entrusted with the Industry Department.
The reshuffle comes after Sanjeev Arora was arrested by the ED on May 9 in connection with a money laundering case. Following his arrest, he was taken from Chandigarh to Gurugram, where he was produced before a court late at night and sent to a 7-day ED remand.
He is now scheduled to be produced before the court again on May 16 as the investigation continues.
