Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday announced a fresh list of national office-bearers, with the party making changes to several key organisational responsibilities.
Among the major changes, BJP national vice-president Saudan Singh has been appointed National Co-General Secretary, marking a significant elevation in his organisational role. However, his responsibility for overseeing the party’s organisational affairs in Chandigarh will remain unchanged.
Singh has previously handled Chandigarh’s organisational affairs as a national general secretary before being appointed national vice-president. With his new assignment, the party has once again entrusted him with an important responsibility in its central organisational structure.
His continued charge of Chandigarh is being viewed as significant for the local BJP unit, as the party has maintained continuity in its organisational leadership despite the broader reshuffle.
Apart from the change in Saudan Singh’s responsibility, there has been no other major change involving Chandigarh in the latest list. The BJP has, however, made organisational changes in several other states and given new faces important responsibilities as part of its wider organisational restructuring.
The appointments were announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Monday.
