The Commission has issued Notification dated 05.01.2026 regarding conduct of elections to the vacant posts of Sarpanches and Panches of following Gram Panchayats of District Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran :-
District Gurdaspur:-Kalanaour Mojowal, Kalanaour Purani, Kalanaour P.A.P, Kalanaour Chakri, Kalanaour Dhaki and Kalanaour Zaildara.
District Tarn Taran:-Kazi Kot(70), (Nalagarh-69), Kakka Kandiala(63), Pandori Gola (79) and Mari Kamboke (68).
As per programme notified, the final date for filing nomination is 08.01.2026 (Thursday). The poll will be held on 18.01.2026 (Sunday) and the Counting of votes will take place at the polling stations same day immediately after the close of poll itself.
Model Code of Conduct has been imposed with the immediate effect, within the revenue jurisdiction of the Gram Panchayats concerned, till the completion of election process i.e. till 19.01.2026.
The Deputy Commissioners-cum-District Election Officers, Gurdaspur and Tarn Taran, have been directed to make all requisite arrangements regarding conduct of these elections in a free, fair and transparent manner.
