Following the success of Punjabi film Ishqnama, actor Jayy Randhawa and actress Shehnaaz Gill visited Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar to seek blessings and express gratitude for the film’s positive reception.
The two artists shared pictures of their visit on their respective social media accounts on Monday night. Bowing before the Guru Ghar, they offered prayers and thanked Waheguru for the success of the film, which was released in theatres on July 24.
In the pictures shared online, Shehnaaz Gill is seen wearing a white salwar suit with a dupatta covering her head, standing with folded hands in a devotional posture. Jaayy Randhawa, dressed in jeans and a T-shirt, was also seen paying obeisance at the shrine along with Nimma, the character he portrays in the film.
Ishqnama is set against the backdrop of the 1980s and tells the story of Nimma, a Sikh youth living near the India-Pakistan border, and Naseema, a Muslim girl from across the border. The film explores how borders, religion, and the political circumstances of that era become obstacles in their love story, while highlighting themes of humanity, sacrifice, and emotional resilience.
The visit to the Golden Temple has drawn attention from fans, many of whom praised the actors for seeking blessings and remaining connected to their cultural and spiritual roots amid the film’s growing popularity.
