Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Punjab on Friday and paid obeisance at the Sri Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as the Golden Temple, in Amritsar. He sought blessings at the holy shrine and spent some time inside the complex.
During his visit, Chouhan also participated in langar seva at the Golden Temple. He joined devotees in cleaning utensils at the langar hall. His participation drew enthusiasm among devotees and BJP workers present at the shrine.
Union Minister is visiting Punjab on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan and the Rakhar Punya Mela. His schedule includes meetings and interactions with farmers. He is set to participate in a ‘Kisan Chaupal’ at Umranangal village, where he will interact with farmers and discuss issues concerning the agricultural sector.
Chouhan is also scheduled to attend programs associated with the Rakharr Punya Mela at Baba Bakala Sahib.
The visit comes amid preparations for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections, with the BJP planning a major political show of strength in the Majha region.
