Himachal Pradesh is likely to witness a change in weather conditions towards the end of October, with rain expected in several areas and snowfall possible in higher-altitude regions on October 29 and 30. The change may intensify the cold in mountainous areas, while plains and lower-altitude regions could also experience a shift in weather conditions.

According to the daily weather bulletin issued by the India Meteorological Department’s Meteorological Centre in Shimla on October 27, predominantly dry weather is expected across the state over the next two days. However, rainfall and snowfall activity may occur at isolated places thereafter, particularly in higher reaches.

The weather department has also forecast the possibility of light rain or snowfall at isolated places in high-altitude areas from October 29 to 31, with similar conditions likely to continue on November 1 and 2.

The upper reaches of Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Chamba, Kullu and Mandi districts fall within the higher mountainous regions and may be affected by the changing weather pattern.

Residents and travellers visiting these areas are advised to keep track of the latest weather updates, especially as the possibility of snowfall could lead to colder conditions in the higher hills.
