Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of electoral rolls is currently underway across Punjab under the supervision of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Punjab, and the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Citizens who have attained the age of 18 years, or will turn 18 by October 1, 2026, can apply to get their names included in the electoral rolls. The registration process for first-time voters has been opened through both online and offline modes.
As per the schedule issued by the Election Commission, eligible citizens can submit Form-6 to register as new voters and get their names included in the draft electoral roll. Applications for the same can be filed till September 12, 2026.
Commission has also invited claims and objections regarding the draft voter list till September 13. Citizens can report errors in names or addresses, seek corrections, or raise objections against the inclusion of any ineligible or bogus voter. Such claims and objections can be submitted at the designated offices or through the online portal.
Election Commission has made different forms available for citizens whose names have been left out of the draft electoral roll or who need corrections in their voter details. The revision exercise is being carried out across all Assembly constituencies in the state with the objective of ensuring that no eligible citizen is deprived of the right to vote.
The registration process has also been streamlined digitally for new voters, NRI voters, deletion of names from electoral rolls and correction of addresses or other voter details, making it easier for citizens to update their electoral information.
