A tragic road accident claimed the lives of two men after a head-on collision between two motorcycles near Kaddal Kalan village in Kapurthala district on Saturday.

The deceased have been identified as Prabhjit Singh, son of Pritam Singh and a resident of Bada Mothanwal, and Ravinder Singh, son of Mahinder Singh and a resident of Kalru village.

According to information received, both motorcycles collided head-on at high speed near Kaddal Kalan. The impact of the crash was so severe that both riders sustained critical injuries and fell onto the road. Passersby immediately alerted emergency services, following which a 108 ambulance rushed the injured men to the Civil Hospital in Kapurthala.

However, despite efforts to save them, duty doctor Dr. Inderpreet Singh declared both victims dead upon examination.

Family members of Prabhjit Singh said his wife is pregnant and currently admitted to the Civil Hospital in Kapurthala. He had gone home to bring food for her and was returning to the hospital when the fatal accident occurred.

Relatives of Ravinder Singh stated that he worked at a tractor workshop and was heading home on his motorcycle after finishing work in the evening when the accident took place.

Hospital authorities informed the concerned police station about the incident. Police have taken both bodies into custody, initiated an investigation, and are carrying out further legal proceedings.
