A SpiceJet flight from Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport to Dubai was delayed by around 14 hours on Tuesday, triggering anger and protests among passengers at the airport.
The flight, which was scheduled to depart at 8:40 am, was reportedly rescheduled to 10:55 pm. Passengers alleged that they were informed about the major delay only after reaching the airport.
Following the announcement, several passengers gathered at the airport and protested against the airline management. They also complained that no proper arrangements had been made for passengers to stay at the airport during the prolonged delay.
The incident comes just days after a similar disruption involving SpiceJet’s Amritsar-Dubai service. On Sunday, the same flight was reportedly delayed by around 17–18 hours, prompting passengers to raise slogans and protest against the airline.
According to passengers, the flight was originally scheduled to depart at 8:40 am on Sunday. Its departure time was later changed to 11:00 am, but passengers were subsequently informed at the airport counter that the flight would be delayed by nearly 17 hours.
The repeated delays have left passengers frustrated, with many questioning the airline’s arrangements and communication regarding the Dubai-bound service.
