Successful Conduct of Mobilization Drill by 14th Battalion NDRF in Himachal Pradesh

14th Bn NDRF successfully conducted comprehensive and well-coordinated mobilization drill on 19 March 2026 across various districts of Himachal Pradesh. The primary objective of this exercise was to strengthen rapid response capability, ensure availability of resources and enhance inter-agency coordination during emergent situations.
The drill was conducted simultaneously at four major locations, wherein a total of 18 NDRF teams actively participated. Scenario based exercises related to Flood Water Rescue (FWR), Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR) and CBRN response were carried out at Bathu Ki Laddi, Pong Dam (Kangra), GSSS Auhar (Bilaspur), Gaushala Ground Joghon (Solan), and Helipad Jhakri, Rampur (Shimla).

The exercise witnessed significant and coordinated participation from Civil Administration, DDMA, SDRF, Fire Services, Home Guards, Aapda Mitra, Police and Medical teams. Through this exercise, key operational aspects such as the robustness of communication systems, effective establishment of staging areas, functionality of equipment, and inter-agency coordination were thoroughly tested in a practical and comprehensive manner. Additionally, participating agencies actively shared knowledge and insights regarding available resources and equipment, fostering better coordination and mutual understanding.
The entire exercise was supervised and guided by Praveen Kumar Tiwary, Commandant, 14th NDRF. His able leadership, vast experience and inspiring guidance played a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the drill.

This mobilization drill not only exemplifies strong inter-agency coordination but also marks a significant step towards ensuring a prompt, effective and well-organized response mechanism in the field of disaster management.
