Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the 2015 Behbal Kalan firing case has once again summoned Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Sukhbir Singh Badal for questioning.
According to the summons, Badal has been asked to appear before the SIT in Chandigarh on September 11. The development comes as the investigation into the firing incident continues.
Badal has appeared before the SIT on previous occasions in connection with the case. He has maintained that he will cooperate with the investigation and has previously stated that he would appear whenever the investigating team summons him for questioning.
Behbal Kalan firing case relates to the police firing during protests in 2015 following incidents of sacrilege in Punjab. Two protesters were killed and several others were injured in the firing.
SIT is continuing its probe to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and determine responsibility for the actions taken during the protests.
