Surajkund Mela plays a vital role in showcasing our cultural heritage on the global stage

International Crafts Mela to be held at Surajkund from February 7 to 23

Principal Secretary, Heritage and Tourism Department Haryana, Kala Ramachandran said that Haryana has preserved its rich cultural and historical heritage. The Surajkund Mela, held in Haryana, plays a significant role in bringing this heritage to an international platform.

Ramachandran was addressing a review meeting with officers from Faridabad district administration today regarding preparations for the 38th Surajkund International Crafts Mela. The Mela will take place at the Surajkund complex in Faridabad from February 7 to 23,2025.

 She said that it is a matter of pride for Haryana to effectively host an event of international significance. This
year, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh have been selected as theme states for the 38th Surajkund International
Crafts Mela. Besides this, BIMSTEC nations—Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and
Thailand are the international organisations and North East Handloom and Handicrafts Association is the
cultural partner of the Mela, along with Delhi Metro will be the ticketing partner for the event. The Mela will be
fully digitised, and all relevant information about it will be available on surajkundmela.com, she added.
