A youth was injured after the Swift car he was driving overturned multiple times in Sector 25, Chandigarh, on Tuesday while he was on his way to appear for a driving test.

According to information, the incident occurred when the driver, identified as Ankit, a resident of Jhamper in Mohali, lost control of the vehicle. After the car became unstable, he applied the brakes, but the vehicle went out of control, overturned two to three times and finally came to a halt after crashing into an iron railing installed in the middle of the road.

Ankit sustained injuries in the accident. Passersby informed the Police Control Room following the incident. A team from the Sector 11 police station reached the spot and rushed the injured youth to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16. He is reportedly out of danger.

Ankit was heading to the Children Traffic Park in Sector 23 to take the driving test required to convert his learner's licence into a permanent driving licence.

Police said no passerby was injured in the accident. The overturned car also did not collide with any other vehicle passing through the area. Ankit was the only person injured in the incident.
