A late-night clash between a group of youths in Krishna Basti near Patiala Gate took a violent turn on Monday, leaving one teenager dead and his cousin critically injured.

The deceased has been identified as Arshdeep Singh, who was allegedly attacked with a sharp-edged weapon. His cousin, Avneet Singh, son of Balwinder Singh and a resident of the same locality, sustained serious injuries in the assault. He was initially taken to the Civil Hospital in Sangrur and later referred to Rajindra Hospital in Patiala due to his critical condition.

Some time later, he received a phone call informing him that his son had been injured. Upon reaching the hospital, he learned that both Arshdeep and his cousin had been attacked by two local youths using sharp weapons.
