Multiple Fire Tenders Rushed to Spot; Bodies Recovered During Rescue Operations, Probe Ordered

A major tragedy struck Hyderabad after a massive fire broke out in a furniture shop building in a busy area of the city, claiming the lives of three people. Several others were rescued safely. Fire department teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert and battled the flames for several hours. Thick plumes of smoke could be seen from a distance, triggering panic among locals.

According to preliminary information, the fire started on the ground floor where the furniture shop was located and quickly spread to the upper floors of the building. The presence of wooden furniture and other highly inflammable materials caused the fire to intensify rapidly. Firefighters used ladders and hydraulic equipment to evacuate people trapped inside. During the rescue operation, three bodies were recovered and sent to a nearby hospital for post-mortem examination.

Eyewitnesses said loud cracking and explosive sounds were heard as the fire spread, and within minutes the entire building was engulfed in smoke. As a precautionary measure, nearby shops were closed and traffic in the area was diverted to ensure smooth rescue operations. Police and civic officials were also present at the site to manage the situation and control the crowd.

Officials stated that an investigation has been launched to determine the exact cause of the fire. The possibility of a short circuit or other technical reasons has not been ruled out, though the exact cause will be confirmed after a detailed probe. Authorities are also examining whether the building complied with mandatory fire safety norms.

The Chief Minister’s Office expressed grief over the incident and assured all possible assistance to the families of the victims. The administration has directed officials to conduct safety inspections of nearby buildings to prevent such incidents in the future. The situation is currently under control, while security arrangements remain in place in the affected area.
