Three members of a family were killed and three young girls sustained critical injuries in a tragic road accident in Jalandhar. The deceased have been identified as Surinder Shukla, a resident of Bilaspur village in Ludhiana, his wife Priyanka, and his mother Yavanti. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.

According to officials, Surinder Shukla was driving his family to Beas when their Swift car was struck head-on by a speeding Toyota Innova near the Vidhipur flyover. The Innova was allegedly being driven on the wrong side of the road when it collided with the family's vehicle.

The family has alleged that instead of helping the injured or taking them to the hospital, the Innova driver fled the scene immediately after the crash.

Surinder was driving the Swift, accompanied by his wife Priyanka, mother Yavanti, and their three daughters. Priyanka died on the spot, while Surinder succumbed to his injuries around 8 p.m. Later that night, at approximately 9 p.m., his mother Yavanti also passed away during treatment.

The couple's three daughters suffered serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment in hospital. Thirteen-year-old Anshika sustained severe fractures in both legs, while eight-year-old Arpita and one-year-old Manvi also suffered critical injuries. The accident has left the three girls orphaned after they lost both their parents and grandmother in the devastating crash.

Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the collision and are working to trace the absconding Innova driver.
