In a shocking incident in Sonipat’s Kundli police station area, an auto driver was brutally attacked by two youths over a dispute involving just ₹20 fare. The injured driver has been admitted to the Civil Hospital for treatment.
According to information, Anil, a resident of village Kawali, earns his livelihood by driving an auto. On Monday, he was carrying passengers from Kundli border towards Sonipat. When he reached near Nathupur village and asked the passengers to pay their fare, a dispute broke out.
The situation escalated after Anil demanded only ₹20 as fare. Instead of paying, two youths became aggressive, attacked him with a knife and belt. The driver sustained multiple injuries during the assault. After the attack, the accused fled from the spot.
Despite being seriously injured, Anil managed to reach the Sonipat Civil Hospital on his own, where doctors began his treatment immediately.
Police were informed about the incident and Kundli police recorded the victim’s statement. A case has been registered, and efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused.
