Vishwakarma Day Symbolizes Respect for Skill, Labour and Dedication: Gangwa

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh –

Haryana’s Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa, while paying obeisance to Lord Vishwakarma on Vishwakarma Day, said that Lord Vishwakarma was the first engineer and craftsman of creation. His life inspires us towards creativity, hard work, and innovation. This festival is not only an opportunity to honour craftsmen and workers but also conveys the message that any work done with dedication and sincerity becomes a true form of worship. This day holds special significance for labourers, artisans, engineers, and those associated with industries.

Ranbir Gangwa participated as the Chief Guest in a programme organized by Vishwakarma Charitable Trust in Hisar on the occasion of Lord Vishwakarma Jayanti on Wednesday.

He said that Lord Vishwakarma teaches us that knowledge and technology should be used for the welfare of society and the progress of humanity. In today’s era, skill development and entrepreneurship are extremely important subjects. PM Narendra Modi and Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini have prioritized both these areas.

He stated that in today’s highly competitive world, skill development is of greatest importance for students. Relying only on traditional academic knowledge is not enough. To achieve success and lead a fulfilling life, students must acquire diverse skills. The Government is continuously working on promoting skill development schemes and entrepreneurship. The Government believes that investing in skill development and entrepreneurship is an investment towards building a bright future for the country.

Moving forward with the vision of building a Developed India, Haryana has established itself as one of the most progressive industrial power hubs in India over the past decade due to industry-friendly and labour welfare policies. CM Saini envisions Haryana as a state where youth are provided not only quality education but also meaningful guidance, purpose, and opportunities. With this approach, every university has been directed to run collaborative programmes with industry partners so that the gap between education and employment can be minimized.

He further said that the Haryana State Research Fund has been established to promote research. The State Government is working towards setting up one Model Skill College and one Model Skill School in every district. The resolve of the “Non-stop Government” is to ensure quality education, employment and promotion of innovation.

He said that the present Haryana Government has created a system through which educated youth can get employment based on their abilities. Citing the recruitment to Haryana Civil Services as an example, he said that it has been possible only under the current Government that students who excel in studies are being selected purely on merit. Additionally, the government has also ensured reservation for people belonging to Backward Classes in Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies.
