The weather may turn challenging today as the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for several regions, warning of thunderstorms, rain and possible hailstorm activity. A sudden change in weather conditions is expected to bring a drop in temperature along with strong winds, which may impact daily life in many areas.

According to weather experts, the change is being driven by an active western disturbance. As a result, skies are likely to remain cloudy throughout the day, with chances of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in several places. Wind speeds may reach 40 to 60 kmph in some regions, making conditions even more severe.

Farmers have been issued a special advisory due to the risk of hailstorm. Standing crops such as wheat, mustard, vegetables, and horticultural produce may suffer damage. Agricultural experts have advised farmers to take necessary precautions, including covering stored crops and securing equipment in open fields.

Urban areas are also expected to be affected. Strong winds may lead to disruptions in power supply and possible incidents of falling trees. Authorities have urged people to avoid unnecessary travel and remain indoors during adverse weather conditions.

The next 24 hours are considered crucial by the weather department. While some areas may witness light to moderate rainfall followed by gradual improvement, officials have emphasized the need for continued caution until conditions stabilize.

Residents are advised to stay updated with weather alerts and follow administrative guidelines in case of emergencies.
