The weather in Himachal Pradesh changed on Friday, with rainfall beginning in the capital, Shimla. A day earlier, on Thursday, the weather remained clear across the state, including Shimla, and the maximum temperature had risen to around 33°C.
According to forecasts, a change in weather is expected from Friday due to the activation of a western disturbance. An orange alert has been issued for April 3 and 4 in several areas of Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla, warning of thunderstorms and hailstorms. A yellow alert has been issued for the remaining districts.
The weather is expected to remain unsettled in the state until April 8, with a likely drop in temperatures during this period.
The Meteorological Centre in Shimla has predicted rainfall across the state over the next six days. Light to moderate rain and snowfall are likely at several places on April 3, 4, and 8. Similar weather conditions are expected at some locations on April 5, 6, and 7.
As per the extended forecast, between April 10 and 16, light rain and snowfall may occur at one or two places in higher and mid-hill regions of the state.
