Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh-
Expressing concern over the continuously deteriorating law and order situation in the state, Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab President Sunil Jakhar has questioned where the Punjab government is amid such circumstances.
In a statement issued here, the state BJP president said that today, after the tragic incident in Dera Baba Nanak where a chemist was shot dead, another person was gunned down outside the SSP office in Mohali, with the assailants managing to flee. The person who was murdered in broad daylight in Dera Baba Nanak had earlier also been attacked once. Meanwhile, the fact that criminals carried out an attack right outside the SSP office in Mohali shows that the fear of the government among criminals has completely vanished.
Sunil Jakhar said that the AAP government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has failed on every front, but its failure on the law and order front is snatching away the very basic right to live from the people. He said that today no one in Punjab feels safe, and instead of taking care of his state, the Chief Minister remains busy pleasing his Delhi-based bosses.
He further said that the people of Punjab are being forced to live in fear and terror. He appealed to the Chief Minister to understand his accountability towards the people of Punjab and to take concrete steps to improve the law and order situation.
