A 27-year-old man was allegedly murdered outside Amritsar Railway Station in the early hours of Monday, triggering panic in the area. Acting swiftly, police arrested the main accused and launched raids to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the case.
According to eyewitness Dalveer Singh, a dispute broke out among six individuals around 4 a.m. What began as an argument quickly escalated when the group allegedly surrounded one youth and attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. The victim sustained critical injuries and died while being taken to the hospital. The eyewitness also claimed that the individuals involved appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Following the incident, Civil Lines Police Station SHO Gurpreet Singh and his team reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The deceased has been identified as Amardeep Singh alias Gyani (27), a resident of Jagdamba Colony on Majitha Road. Doctors declared him dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Preliminary police investigations suggest that a financial dispute may have been the motive behind the attack. SHO Gurpreet Singh stated that the primary accused has been arrested, while police teams are conducting raids to trace and arrest the other suspects involved in the murder.
