‘Say No to Plastic’ – Awareness Seminar Against Single-Use Plastic Organized in Mohali

Senior Congress leader and former Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu today organized a special seminar under the ‘Say No to Plastic’ campaign at Sylvie Park, Phase-10, Mohali, on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, through the Sidhu Foundation. The seminar focused on banning single-use plastic, encouraging the use of jute bags, and creating a cleaner and healthier environment.

The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from local residents, who extended full support to this campaign. Addressing the gathering, Balbir Singh Sidhu appealed to people to reduce the use of plastic in their daily lives and adopt eco-friendly alternatives like jute bags to protect the environment.

On this occasion, free jute bags were distributed among the residents, and an awareness rally was also organized to spread the message of sustainability.

Prominent attendees included members of the Sylvie Park Welfare Association – G.S. Chhina (Chairman), H.S. Sran (President), H.S. Gill (General Secretary) Amarjit Singh Bajwa (Senior Vice President), Vikram Bajwa, Manjit Singh Lote, Baljit Singh Walia, V.K. Dureja, Ram Prakash Bhatti.

Along with Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu, Councilor Kulwinder Sanju, Master Charan Singh, Inderjit Dhillon, Kamalpreet Bunny, Gurcharan Singh Bhamra, Jasbir Manku, S. Bala Singh, Dimple Sabharwal, Jaswinder Sharma, Sunny Ganda, and other senior Congress leaders and workers were also present.

Concluding the seminar, Balbir Singh Sidhu said:“Making Mohali clean and plastic-free is our shared responsibility. Let us all take this step together for a better tomorrow.”
