The State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV & ACB) organized a voluntary cleanliness and plantation drive today on 26th of July 2024 at the Vigilance Headquarters at Shimla and in all the field units of the Vigilance Department across the state.
During the drive all 13 field units of the Bureau cleaned up the surroundings of the offices of vigilance department and also planted new saplings to increase forest cover around the area where these offices are located. At the vigilance headquarters at Khalini, Shimla all the officers and staff of the SV & ACB, Vigilance Unit Shimla, Communication and Technical Services (C&TS) wing and Tourism, Traffic and Railways (TTR ) wing participated in the event.
Later100 trees of five different species including Deodar, Oak, Indian horse- chestnut, lagerstroemia and Bottlebrushes were planted to reduce the risk of landslides around the vigilance headquarters building and to increase the green cover.
Additional Director General of Police, SV & ACB Satwant Atwal Trivedi presided over the function and commended the efforts made by all personnel of the headquarters and the field units. She also urged the participants to take care of the plants after planting them so as to ensure their survival.
