New initiatives in Haryana: Energy from Waste and Solar Power – Anil Vij

Punjab Newsline, Chandigarh, December 24 –

Under an ambitious plan by the Haryana government, modern plants will be established in every district of the state to generate electricity from waste. These plants will convert waste into energy, contributing to both cleanliness in districts and electricity production.

This decision was taken during a review meeting of the Department of New and Renewable Energy, chaired by Haryana Energy Minister, Anil Vij. The meeting included detailed discussions on the use of renewable energy and energy conservation strategies.

It was also discussed in the meeting that solar panels will be installed on all government buildings in the state. Departments will be directed to provide information about their buildings to facilitate this process. Besides this, solar powerhouses will be set up in each district to power streetlights using solar energy. During the day, energy will be stored, which will then be used to supply electricity to streetlights at night.

In another significant initiative, a pilot project will be launched in one village to promote the use of solar energy among farmers. Through this project, farmers will be supplied electricity via solar panels.
