Haryana Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda said 14,295 government schools are functioning in the state. The state government is making continuous efforts to meet the shortage of teachers in government schools. The demand letter regarding filling a total of 4780 posts of Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) in various subjects was sent to the Haryana Public Service Commission in July 2024 and the Commission has received recommendations for 1704 posts in 2025 and the process of issuing appointment letters has been started. This process will be completed before the start of the next academic session.
Dhanda was answering the questions asked by the members during the attention motion in the budget session of the Haryana Legislative Assembly today.
The Education Minister said that the department has invited promotion cases to fill 4550 vacant posts of PGT promotion quota in various subjects. This promotion process will also be completed very soon. A demand letter has been sent to Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam for filling 3427 posts of PGT and TGT.
