48 to be selected for training
Chosen candidates to undergo training under supervision of dedicated staff of the Institute

As many as 3018 candidates today appeared for the entrance exam for the 14th course to be commenced at the prestigious Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali). The Institute is being run by the Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Department headed by Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora.
Director of MRSAFPI Major General Ajay H Chauhan, VSM (Retd.), conducted surprise inspections at two examination centres in Mohali. Four examination centres were set up for the entrance test at School of Eminence Phase 3B1, Mohali and BSH Arya High School, Mohali, DAV Public School PAP, Jalandhar and RB DAV Public School, Bathinda.
He said that the top 150 successful candidates will be called for the final selection process at the later date and 48 candidates will be chosen from across Punjab to undergo training for joining the Armed Forces through National Defence Academy (NDA) /equivalent academies under the watchful eyes of dedicated staff of the Institute.
As many as 226 cadets of the Institute have joined various Services Academies including NDA since the inception of the MRSAFPI, Major General Ajay H Chauhan said while adding that a record number of boys (4100) have registered themselves for the entrance test this year. This response has been largely due to the concerted efforts of the Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government and high success rate of the Institute.
