CHANDIGARH: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today lashed out at SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami for misusing the Sikh body to protect the business interests of SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal who owns PTC news channel.

SGPC had given exclusive rights of Gurbani telecast to PTC news channel. The Punjab Vidhan Sabha has passed Sikh Gurdwara (Amendment) bill to facilitate free to air telecast of Gurbani on all channels and digital media.

Malwinder Singh Kang Chief Spokesman of AAP today questioned the SGPC president for protecting the PTC channel and exclusive telecast rghts given to the channel because it is owned by SAD president. He said that Punjab Government had no ill intentions behind passing the bill in Vidhan Sabha. It's sole motive is to allow free telecast of Gurbani from all channels.

He asked Dhami if he wanted to liberate Gurbani and allow its telecast on all TV channels and digital media. He said that PTC channel had monopolised the Gurbani and earning crores of rupees by grabbing telcast rights. He said that Punjab Government just made an request to SGPC to end the monopoly of a channel and allow free to air telecast of the Gurbani.
